TV: Torq-O film footage featured on History Channel's Automaniac!
Metropolitan fans:
As if our new DVD The Met Set weren't enough, we have even more Met news for you.
There's a monster Met featured on a new episode of the show Automaniac running on The History Channel.
The car is called the Metronator, and it features a ridiculously large engine. (In fact, I feel kinda sorry for the guy who stuffed it in the Met engine compartment, because that car does nothing but fishtail every time the driver stomps on the gas.) You've gotta see it to believe it.
How did we know about it? We supplied rare vintage Met film footage to the TV production company that produces Automaniac. In fact, Torq-O owns the largest collection of vintage Metropolitan footage known. You'll see a lot of it in The Met Set DVD.
James Joyce (no Irish author jokes, please) from Greystone Television called us on Wednesday to tell us that the episode would be airing that night. We saw the show, but we knew that it would run again.
If you want to see the Metronator for yourself, tune in to The History Channel on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00pm ET. The episode will repeat on Friday, August 12 at 3:00am. For an episode synopsis, check out The History Channel's TV listings.
Look for shots of Jimmy Valentine's Metropolitan Pit Stop Museum in the Metronator segment in addition to our footage.
