Torq-O on the radio!
Great news! Orphan car fans will finally get some airtime!
I've been invited to appear on Adrian the Bald Guy's weekly radio show called The Bald Guy Files! Airdate: February 12th, 2005, at 8:00am MT.
Adrian hosts a really funny talk show about cars. He'll talk about anything related to cars...except how to fix or restore 'em! My kind o' car fan!!
Adrian and I will talk about all of the various orphan car companies and marques. (We might even talk about current car companies that probably SHOULD BE orphans.) Who knows?
As long as no one mentions the words "restoration tips" or "parts resources," the orphan car topics will be wide open.
If you're a Northern Colorado local, tune in to KSXT 1570 AM on February 12. If not, stay tuned to this website for an audio stream of the program sometime after February 12!
And if you have anything about orphan cars you'd like me to discuss on the show, just email me!
Stay tuned for more info about this upcoming show!

Orphan Sounds Sounds Good Again!
We're standing at the sink with a lot of GoJo on our hands.
Why? We just spent a lot of time hooking up new audio samples to each and every Orphan Sounds Tracks page.
That means you can once again test drive each and every audio track on this 35-track CD without having to buy it first.
If you decide to swing with The Javelin Beat or preview our incredibly rare 1951 Frazer radio commercial, you'll need one thing: the QuickTime Multimedia Player.
It's a free download from Apple, and it's necessary in order to listen to the MP3-encoded audio preview files. It's available for both Windows and the Mac (of course), so no one gets left out.
If you like what you hear and gotta, gotta, gotta have it, just order it online from Torq-O by pushing the cog button with the dollar sign in it.
Then take it to your next car show and make those Big Three fans really, really jealous!

2 New Marques and 1 New Club Added to Links Page
Hey, orphan fans!
My web site stats tell me you like the Links page the most.
Well I got fresh hot linkage for you!
We've just added a link to the Checker home page. While you're there, check out the link to the Bricklin Club.
And if you're eyes are really sharp, you'll notice that we slipped the Glenn Pray Auburn-Cord Group into the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg section.
(For the 8 or 9 of you who may have wondered: Glenn Pray owns the official trademarks to Auburn and Cord. When Mattel puts out any new variations on their Auburn or Cord models, they send a licensing fee to Glenn in Broken Arrow, OK, as well as a box of 100 cars. Thanks to Club Historian Felix De Geyter for that nifty bit of 411!)

Mag Wheels: '64 Studebaker Dragster in Hemmings Muscle Machines
You don't often see the words "Studebaker" and "Dragster" side by side in a sentence.
But writer George Mattar tells the story of a '64 Studebaker Challenger called "The Plain Brown Wrapper" in the February 2005 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines.
The car keys are still in the hands of its original owner George Krem, who bought it from a Studebaker dealer when he was 22.
Krem dropped an original R3 engine in it and added a stock Paxton supercharger.
In Summer 2004 Krem had Ted Harbit at the wheel in the Pure Stock Drag Race in Michigan.
The Wrapper blew the doors off of: a 1970 LS-6 Chevelle, a 396-powered Nova, a 1970 Dodge Challenger with the 440 Six Pack, and a W-30 1970 Olds 442.
NEVER underestimate the (horse)power of the orphans!

Mag Wheels: '79 AMXs in Hemmings Muscle Machines
For all of you AMC racing fans, there's a great article in the February 2005 Hemmings Muscle Machines. It's called AMC Invades Germany by George Mattar.
It seems that B.F. Goodrich sponsored two AMC Spirit-based AMXs in 1979.
These cars were the only American entries at the 24-hour Group One endurance race in Nurburgring, West Germany.
One of the six drivers on the team was actor James Brolin (couldn't resist this link) who is now married to Barbara Streisand.
The Number 2 car on the team was rumored to be destroyed, but current owner Steve Francis bought it from some Michigan AMC fans and is currently restoring it.
So how did the cars perform at the race? Sorry, folks. I can't give away the ending. But the race is history, and the issue is on newsstands now.
